We’re here to help non-professional researchers who would like others to know about their discoveries because when information fails to be shared widely, it becomes a detriment to research everywhere. Even in the academic arena, many student papers represent significant research, directed and reviewed by highly competent professors, only to end up in filing cabinets. SCarchaeology wants to help you bring this research to light. To accomplish this, we’ve enlisted a board of directors and advisors such as archaeologists, historians, journalists, and other accomplished individuals in fields relevant to helping our endeavor succeed.
SCarchaeology will focus on the publication of qualified research on our website where it can be accessed world wide. Our web publications will be printed annually in book form and presented to associated researchers, their schools or home-town libraries, as well as to each county library in South Carolina. However, all copyrights & commercial publication rights will remain with each contributor. Research in South Carolina and adjoining states will be emphasized; but this endeavor is not just for activities that are physically located within the state. Our efforts will encompass topics such as methodology, theory, developments in the field, and events anywhere in the world that may impact research in South Carolina. This website provides a forum for discussion and the exchange of information, for requesting volunteers, for identifying artifacts, and for unpaid researchers to seek competent assistance on any level without charge.
